Master Floral Enthusiasts

The MFE is our new, certificate program in basic floral design.  It involves 42 hours of lecture & studio practice followed by 40 hours of volunteering. 

Floral Enthusiasts

            Event Centerpiece

            1/24, 2-4 PM, $40 per person

            Create a rounded, lush centerpiece using seasonal cut flowers and foliage. 

Professional Florists

            Wedding Floral Design Workshop

            1/30-31, 9-4 daily, $150 per person

Designing wedding flowers involves creativity, moreover sharp organizational skill.  In this two-day workshop, learn basic floral designs for wedding including altar design, flowers to carry and wear, and centerpieces.  We will cover how to book a wedding in order to sell effective, stylish designs that provide value and profitability.  This class is intended for professional florists as well as those intending on beginning a floral business or working in the industry.

            Valentine Arrangement

            2/14, 2-4 PM, $40 per person

In this afternoon workshop, beginners will create a romantic floral design using market fresh flowers chosen by the teacher, Dr. DelPrince.

Floral Enthusiasts

            Floral Design Demonstration featuring Dr. DelPrince

            3/8, 1-3 PM, $20 per person

In our celebration of International Women’s Day, enjoy an afternoon of floral design demonstrations by Dr. Jim DelPrince.  Watch his live work and learn techniques of designing with fresh flowers while enjoying the colors, fragrance and patterns.  Following his demonstration, partake in refreshments and “talk flowers” with the speaker and attendees.  Bring a friend!

Floral Enthusiasts

            Easter Arrangement

            4/11, 5:30-7:30 PM, $40 per person

Fragrant, springtime blossoms are delicate not only in color, but pattern and texture.  This workshop will enable you to make an Easter arrangement to display in your home.

Floral Enthusiasts

            Mothers Day Arrangement

            5/12, 5:30-7:30 PM, $40 per person

Spend an evening making a fresh floral arrangement.  You can keep it or give it to someone special who has done something nice for you.  This is a mixed floral design using a variety of floral forms combined with greenery.

Floral Enthusiasts

            Rose Arrangement

            6/6, 2:00-4:00 PM, $40 per person

Everyone should have the chance to learn and practice the creation of a dozen roses arranged in a vase.  An American standard, there is more to this design than just good looks.  Learn how to design it for a longer lasting display.

Workshop Policies

Class registration can be paid by credit card or check.

Payment holds a seat in each workshop; first come, first served.

Class sizes are limited.

Refunds cannot be made once registration is completed. 

If you cannot make a FE or PF program, consider giving your registration to someone. Exception MFE Program may not allow others to take their place.

No advanced training is necessary for any program.

Participants must be at least 18 years.

All workshops held at MSU Coastal R&E Center, 1815 Popps Ferry Rd., Biloxi.

Participants must bring their own tools to classes (pruners, scissors, floral knife) with the exception of Master Floral Enthusiast program where tools are provided.
